Learn About the Latest SAP EAM Innovations at SAP for Utilities in San Diego

North America’s largest industry conference—SAP for Utilitiestakes place on October 21-23 in San Diego, Calif. If the location isn’t enough to pique your interest, the conference will also feature hundreds of customer, partner, and SAP attendees that are trying to solve the same challenges you face every day in in the utilities industry.

There will be more than 200 SAP customer companies in attendance, as well as service and solution providers. Rizing will be there sharing our own experience and knowledge as part of a wide-ranging agenda that covers SAP S/4HANA, Internet of Things, Data Governance, and more.

In the utilities industry, customers are expecting a modern experience, and technology is the base for that. SAP for Utilities can connect customers to those that will help solve the challenge of creating that experience in an efficient way that provides a great return on investment.

As Gold sponsor, you can find us in the Rizing booth on the show floor. We will have speakers in two sessions, the first of which comes as an extended preconference session that covers the latest SAP asset management technologies. We’ll also have one our customers on hand—Cleco—to discuss how they built an integrated estimated and design system with SAP EAM solutions

Below, you’ll find information on both our speaking sessions. Go here for the full SAP for Utilities agenda.

As part of that discussion, we will look at what the new capabilities in the SAP Intelligent Asset Management Suite and SAP S/4HANA are providing and what value they bring to the organization. This session will utilize presentations as well as life systems to outline what the future SAP asset management system can look like.

Abstract: CLECO recently completed a large implementation of SAP EAM functionality using SAP S/4HANA as part of its START program. Central to the electric distribution design and estimation functions now in use are a comprehensive use of SAP-compatible units, coupled with ESRI’s ArcFM Designer as the graphical design tool. This presentation will inform the audience of the possibilities of an integrated toolset, as well as some of the unique technical challenges the project team overcame. Topics included in the presentation include replication and synchronization of data across SAP and ArcFM Designer, technical integration design, including use of web services, and management of the entire estimation and design process in both tools.

Key Business Benefits:

  • Management of data replication processes between systems ensures timely data is accurate.
  • This allows for multiple intersections between the systems at various points.
  • These efforts prevent bad data from entering the system by providing immediate feedback.
