From the old suggestion box to app-based communication, companies have long been looking for ways to solicit feedback from their employees. The challenge is that feedback is often on a delay, perhaps only coming at yearly reviews or periodic meetings. So, an organization might not know about the experience of their employees until after the information is relevant.

At SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference 2019 in Orlando, SAP made the “Experience Economy” as a central topic while highlighting newly acquired Qualtrics, which is described as an experience management suite that gathers data via simple, user-friendly surveys which appear at various touchpoints. These surveys can be as simple as a thumbs up or thumbs down, or even expand to several questions.

While this is often used to retrieve customer feedback, Qualtrics also provides a platform for gathering data from employees on their experiences at work.

Embedded Employee Experience Data

SAP announced the release of three Qualtrics products that are specifically designed for employee experience data: SAP Qualtrics Employee Engagement, SAP Qualtrics Employee Lifecycle, and SAP Qualtrics Benefits Optimizer.

  • SAP Qualtrics Employee Engagement: Employee Engagement provides analysis on open text survey responses and predictions on actions that may improve engagement. It also comes with an embedded role-based dashboard to deliver insights straight to managers.
  • SAP Qualtrics Employee Lifecycle: Helps gather employee experience data throughout major events in an employee’s time with your company. Surveys can be triggered at certain milestones, such as first-day onboarding, training, promotion, exit, and more.
  • SAP Qualtrics Employee Benefits Optimizer: Designed to incorporate employee feedback to identify the ideal benefits for compensations packages within your company’s unique culture and budget. Able to run simulations on trade-offs that employees are willing to make.

All three are available alongside the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite, providing organizations the ability to collect employee experience data and act on it.

Taking Employee Analytics to Another Level

SAP SuccessFactors is the source for traditional HR operational data. Analyzing that information can provide great insight into your employee’s recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and more.

However, combining that information with employee experience data provides the opportunity to go another level with real-time insight into how your employees feel about every HR process along the way. With that information in hand, your HR team is empowered to build the best processes that keep employees engaged and happy.
