At SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference 2019 in Orlando, the path to SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise became clearer. That is showing up on product roadmaps, where the integration and analytics work will be what brings the Intelligent vision to life.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and employee data are key elements to the overall strategy, and work has already begun to integrate them into SAP’s other core systems. SAP detailed those plans at SAPPHIRE NOW as it presented the Employee Central roadmap for 2019 and beyond.

Updates intended to connect Employee Central to the rest of the intelligent suite, include SAP S/4HANA and SAP C/4HANA, are planned by the end of 2019. The goal is to align the master data in all SAP systems—making sure someone’s job role, for example, has the same name no matter which tool you are using.

There’s also integration within the SuccessFactors suite that will be done, including process integrations so that each transition an employee makes, from recruiting to off-boarding, is as smooth as can be.

Aligning All SAP User Experiences

Another important piece is the overall user experience. SAP plans to unify the user interface in all its products, so that someone moving from Employee Central to S/4HANA to C/4HANA won’t even realize that they had left a system. That also will come with a single launchpad that provides access to all applications in the technology suite.

For C/4HANA, SuccessFactors has planned integrations with SAP Commissions, formerly called Callidus Cloud. Integration between Commissions, S/4HANA, and Employee Central Payroll (ECP) will allow sales compensation data to pass from each system and into ECP to be paid out.

SAP also expects to improve the user experience for accessing the SAP ERP Salary Statement in Employee Central, and also replicated bank master and company codes from S/4HANA Cloud.

Finally, as part of the Intelligent Enterprise, SAP is embedding SAP Analytics Cloud into all of its cloud offerings, including S/4HANA, C/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and SAP Fieldglass. As we’ve detailed before, SAP Analytics Cloud is coming to SAP SuccessFactors this year.

Intelligent Enterprise Starts with HR

For an enterprise to operate intelligently, it needs to recruit, hire, and retain the best employees. It also needs to offer a culture that inspires innovation. That makes HR and HCM technology at the center of an intelligent transformation. SAP SuccessFactors integration into the overall SAP suite is a key piece, and the people data that it provides will be valuable in building successful businesses.
