WorkForce Software VISION: Three Key Takeaways Covering UX, Schedule Editor and More featured image

Innovative, engaging, and dynamic—the best words to describe the virtual WorkForce Software VISION conference last month. We attended to find out the latest developments in WorkForce Software (WFS) and workforce management. The topics ranged from a heavy emphasis on user experience to increased integration capabilities and adapting to COVID-19.

We followed closely and came away with three major takeaways, starting with that UX focus.

Top Three Takeaways from WorkForce Software VISION 2020

  1. The WorkForce Software User Experience is improving.

WFS is a market-leader for its functionality, but customers have long expressed a desire for a more intuitive user experience. Last January, WFS took a significant step forward with WorkForce Hub, a mobile-first front-end interface labeled by one customer as Instagram or Spotify-like in appearance. The Hub is supported on all modern browsers with no plug-ins required. The WorkForce Suite now has the consumer-grade experience allowing employees to hone in on the tasks they have to do while maintaining the enterprise-grade functionality the solution is known for.

At WorkForce Software VISION, further enhancements to WorkForce Hub were announced, including bringing WorkForce Assistant, prioritizing tasks, and system messages based on an urgency model to all WFS suite modules. Other features to elevate the experience recently released were an improved calendar, expanded timesheet, time off capabilities, and more personalized Hub cards for employees. The WorkForce team continues to innovate to improve the user experience for clients, releasing enhancements in weeks.

  1. Universal Scheduling capabilities

WFS is making significant improvements to forecasting and scheduling capabilities. Harnessing the WorkForce Assistant’s power will allow employees to receive important messages, real-time updates, and flexibility in managing their time. Employees will be able to fill schedules to accommodate the changes they need when life doesn’t go as planned, including availability notices and shift swaps.

WorkForce Software VISION also brought about the announcement of Universal Scheduling, with the goal of “Schedule Everyone. Anywhere.” This will unify multiple WFS scheduling engines, bringing together template-driven scheduling and demand-driven scheduling into a single interface for improving forecasting and the ability to fill job-driven and demand-driven roles. The future capability of demand-driven scheduling will involve using machine learning to forecast demand and optimize schedules accurately. This next-generation scheduling tool will allow increased flexibility and enable customers to future-proof their workforce management needs with even greater ease.

  1. Adapting to COVID-19

At WorkForce Software VISION, WFS demonstrated its ability to quickly adapt to COVID-19 and support customers in doing so equally quickly, highlighting its new pre-shift health screening feature and options to support contact tracing protocols. This AI-powered tool can use a chatbot to conduct a COVID-19 screen for a shift, asking about fevers, other symptoms, and contact with others who may have tested positive for the illness.

The pre-shift health screening feature can be accessed in many ways, including QR codes, text messages, or the WorkForce Assistant. Notably, this chatbot functionality and other improvements indicate a greater investment in artificial intelligence by WorkForce Software. They could have applications beyond COVID-19 in the future for administrators, managers, and employees alike.

Finding the Best Time Management System for Your Organization

WorkForce Software is undoubtedly one of the premier time management systems available. This year’s announcements at WorkForce Software VISION further solidifies the WFS Suite as a best-in-class workforce management solution.

WFS is known as an agnostic integrator—and it’s looking to become even more open beyond JAVA and SQL with pre-packaged APIs. Not only does this mean better integration for SAP SuccessFactors customers with HCM applications, but WFS will also integrate more easily with any application you may be using in your greater technology landscape.

We recommend a series of considerations to find out which time management software fits your company best. For further guidance on WorkForce Software or other time management systems, be sure to contact our team.
