We’ve broken down the major H2 2023 SAP® SuccessFactors® updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in People Analytics.

Deprecation of Table Reports, Tiles & Dashboards, and Canvas Reports

Table reports, Tiles & Dashboards, and Canvas reports will all reach the End of Development on November 17, 2023, and will be Deleted on November 21, 2025.

As the logical next step for achieving SuccessFactors’ vision of making Stories in People Analytics the go-to solution for all customer reporting needs, SuccessFactors is deprecating the legacy reporting tools, Table reports, Tiles & Dashboards, and Canvas.

Key Dates for Replacement:

  • End of Development: SAP will no longer enhance the product after the 2H 2023 release (November 17, 2023).
  • End of Maintenance: SAP will not fix bugs or deliver patches for this feature after 2H 2025 (November 21, 2025),
  • Deletion: After the 2H 2025 release, the feature will no longer be available for production use.

With this deprecation, you’ll need to evaluate transitioning any of these reports to Stories.

Deprecation of Classic Reports

Classic Reports will reach End of Development on November 17, 2023, and will be Deleted on November 22, 2024.

SAP is deprecating the legacy Classic Reports tool as the logical next step for achieving SuccessFactors’ vision of making Stories in People Analytics the go-to solution for all customer reporting needs.

Key Dates for Replacement:

  • End of Development: Since the 2H 2023 release (November 17, 2023), SAP will no longer enhance the product.
  • End of Maintenance: By 2H 2024 (November 22, 2024), SAP will no longer fix bugs or deliver patches for this component.
  • Deletion: As of the 2H 2024 release, the feature is no longer available for production use.

With this deprecation, you must evaluate transitioning any Classic Reports to Stories.

Unified Story Experience Enhancements

SAP Analytics Cloud introduced changes to enhance Story reports as part of a unified story experience. The updates are available to stories with the optimized view mode enabled or were built using the optimized design experience. The updates are available for existing stories (built using the classic design) after you convert and upgrade them to the optimized design experience.

What’s Changed:

Data Analyzer is one of the latest and greatest additions to Stories. Data Analyzer allows you to create data analysis and insights using existing data sources from your table or chart, with all your dimensions/measures available on rows and columns and the ability to use filters, thresholds, and variables.

Enhancements to Stories

With the 2H 2023 release, SAP SuccessFactors is releasing several enhancements related to Stories. These are the most relevant ones:

Reporting on System Email Notifications

You can now monitor the delivery of system email notifications using Stories in People Analytics. You can visualize the delivery data of system email notifications by creating charts, visualizations, text, images, and pictograms on the three newly available objects: Email Notification, Email Notification Recipient Details, and Email Notification Processing Details. You can only create reports on data from the last 15 days.

Talent Intelligence Hub Data Available in Story Reports

You can now create a Story Report with data from Talent Intelligence Hub. You can report on data in the following tables: Attributes, Attribute Types, Tag, Growth Portfolio, Behavior, Proficiency Level, and Proficiency Set. This feature enables you to effectively analyze the usage of Talent Intelligence Hub entities in your organization.

Tags of Attributes Reportable in Story Reports for Learning

You can now include tag information in a Story report for Learning attributes. These tags are keywords that are maintained in Talent Intelligence Hub. You can join the Tags table with the Attributes table to report information on Tag ID, Tag Status, and Tag Name.

Availability of Application Status Audit Trail Entity in Story Reports

Reporting administrators can now use Stories in People Analytics to preview and generate Story reports for application status updates in Job applications. The Application Status Audit Trail entity is already available in the Table reports. The query on the Application Status Audit Trail entity displays a table with the status change data of an application.
