From AI-driven explanations of pay statements to self-service alumni access and streamlined technical configurations, these updates enhance both employee experience and administrative control within Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
1. Alumni Access to Restricted Payroll Information
Alumni Access allows former employees to continue using specific system features even after they leave the company. With this enhancement, organizations can now create self-service links that are exclusively accessible to alumni users, enabling them to manage their own information without needing direct assistance.
The eligibility and duration of alumni access are determined by business rules, which can be customized to meet organizational needs or revoked manually when necessary. Once assigned the Alumni role, users can access and utilize employee self-service features available on both the Payroll Information screen and the Payroll Information card within the Latest People Profile.

This feature offers significant advantages for both HR and payroll teams, as it helps reduce administrative workload and lower costs associated with managing post-employment requests. At the same time, it provides former employees with seamless access to their payroll and personal information, along with continued access to relevant systems and Role-Based Permissions (RBPs) after their employment ends.
Business Value: This feature significantly reduces administrative overhead by empowering former employees to handle their own post-employment requests, such as retrieving pay slips or tax details without HR intervention. It strengthens the employer brand by offering a seamless, self-service exit experience that extends beyond active employment.
2. OAuth Configuration Automation Report
We have introduced a new report to automate OAuth configuration, streamlining the setup process for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. This report eliminates multiple manual steps by reading certificates and importing them into the relevant transactions, ensuring a faster and more accurate configuration.
You can use the report RP_HRSFEC_PAY_OAUTH_CONFIG to automate the OAuth 2.0 configuration required for integrating SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. The report performs several key actions:
- Creates or recreates technical users, SAML identity providers, OAuth 2.0 clients, and certificate mappings.
- Uploads the necessary certificates to the trust manager automatically.

This functionality was delivered to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and simplify the process for users who frequently manage OAuth configurations. By automating these steps, the report significantly minimizes manual intervention and ensures a consistent setup experience.
Business Value: This automation reduces configuration errors, accelerates system setup, and ensures greater consistency in secure integrations saving IT and payroll teams valuable time while enhancing data integrity between systems.
3. Enhanced Job and Position Replication Report
The report RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL has been replaced by the enhanced version RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL_V2. This new version introduces significant improvements in performance and functionality.
Variants created for previous versions of the report (RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL and RP_HRSFEC_JOB_POS_REPL_WCS) remain valid. However, we recommend recreating the report variants using the new version to take full advantage of the enhancements. The updated report includes:
- A new selection screen and enhanced processing logic.
- Ability to replicate multiple languages in a single run.
- Improved handling of back-end tables: the system checks all records with delimitations to identify relevant changes. If differences are not significant, the data is compressed and displayed as one record when replicated to Employee Central Payroll tables, including country/region-specific tables.

These improvements result in better performance, reduced memory issues, and a more efficient replication process.

4. Explain My Pay Statement with Joule
In a breakthrough for payroll transparency, SAP introduces Explain My Pay Statement, an AI-powered feature that uses Joule to help employees understand their pay slips.
Joule can now:
- Explain an employee’s most recent pay statement or compare it with the previous period.
- Explain specific terms or amounts displayed on your pay statement, that may include wage type names or wage type information from the payroll result, depending on whether the wage type is included in the document grounding.
Currently available in Germany, Mexico, and the Netherlands, the feature supports localized wage type descriptions in German, Spanish, and Dutch.
To use this feature, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- You’ve purchased the AI Units license (contact your Account Executive for details).
- Explain My Pay Statement is enabled under Premium AI Features in SAP SuccessFactors and for Employee Central Payroll based on SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA.
- The AI Services Administration – Explain Pay option is enabled in Admin Center.
- Joule is enabled for SAP SuccessFactors.
- The connection to Microsoft SharePoint is prepared in Admin Center → Manage Document Grounding.
- Pay statement (direct) integration is enabled for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.
- Support Package SAP S/4HANA HCM (S4HCM 101) 27 is installed in your Employee Central Payroll system. (Please note: The feature cannot be used fully until this support package is released. Full documentation will be provided at that time.

It also marks a major step toward integrating AI in payroll communications, transforming complex data into clear, employee-friendly insights.
5. Pay Components-Based Compensation for Time Account Payouts
You can now configure pay components-based compensation methods for time account payouts. This enhancement was introduced based on customer idea.

Previously, only one compensation method per country/region was allowed for time account payouts. With this update, Employee Central Time enables you to configure different pay components for various time accounts, providing greater flexibility. We have implemented new compensation methods based on pay components in the SAP payroll system, ensuring compliance with diverse business requirements. This improvement allows organizations to manage payouts more accurately and adapt to complex compensation structures without manual workarounds.
Business Value: This enhancement allows organizations to align payout structures with diverse business and regulatory needs. It eliminates manual workarounds, increases payroll accuracy, and ensures consistency across countries with varying compensation requirements.
