The SAP SuccessFactors® 2020 roadmap will be realized, in part, with the initial 2020 production release on May 15. The preview for that release is coming soon—April 10, and we can get a sneak peek into the first half or “H1” release by looking at the roadmap. There are just two rollouts on the 2020 SAP SuccessFactors release schedule, so expect both versions to be full of innovation and critical features.
Let’s look at what’s on the SAP SuccessFactors 2020 Roadmap for user interfaces, search capabilities, analytics, recruiting, and onboarding.
SAP SuccessFactors 2020 Roadmap Insights
Unified User Interface
SAP is moving towards standardized user interfaces, no matter the SAP application. For the first half of 2020, we can expect continued innovations to the reimagined homepage that arrived in 2019, including replacing the Home Page Group with a Permission Group in custom tile and manage tours scenarios. There will also be notification framework integration for nudge functionality in “Manage My Team.”
We can also expect “Product Switcher,” a new component that allows for navigation between SAP applications, as well as a unified inbox.
In the second half of 2020, expect more home page innovations, support for SAP Fiori inbox to-do integration, performance improvements in home page V3 (the current version) and to-do framework functions, customer usage data collections tools for the home page, and support for contextual cross-app navigation.
Search
Your ability to search for employees and recruits in SAP SuccessFactors is expected to get a boost through auto-complete capabilities in the people profile and recruiting management modules. Advanced search should also be generally available by the middle of 2020.
In the second half of the SAP SuccessFactors 2020 roadmap, expect search support for the reimagined user experience, relevancy enhancement for search results, and search parameter configuration in the admin center.
People Analytics
The first half of the SAP SuccessFactors 2020 Roadmap includes a unified reporting interface in People Analytics, embedded edition (formerly Reporting). You should also expect improved admin capabilities in embedded edition, as well as the addition of scheduling, support for quicker rollouts through standard content, and a unified data model.
SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics, advanced edition (formerly Workforce Analytics), will be generally available for the first time in 2020 (first release). This initial release will include a core workforce metrics pack, integration into the report center, and tree security data permissions. To utilize People Analytics, advanced edition, customers are required to have SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and People Analytics, embedded edition.
The general release of SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics, planning edition (formerly Workforce Planning), is expected in the second half of 2020.
Recruiting
The SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting candidate experience should see a reimagined search, along with the introduction of Experience Management solutions (from Qualtrics) that seek out candidate feedback through e-mailed surveys on status changes. An application “thank you” page is also expected.
On the recruiter side, the evergreen requisition functionality will become generally available. Interview rescheduling capabilities will be enhanced, along with a list page and search for applications, and the automation of requisition creation with position integration.
For admins, Russia data privacy is on the 2020 roadmap. Managing contract posting should be available in self-service, there will be a unified job model, and sourcing data for embedded analytics.
The Recruiting user experience will be a top priority for the remainder of 2020, with a focus on advanced automation and data-driven recommendations in the areas of application workbench and requisition management.
Onboarding
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0 became generally available in 2019, so most enhancements will be focused on that module over Onboarding 1.0 going forward. In the first half of 2020, expect Onboarding 1.0 to receive compliance enhancements.
Onboarding 2.0 will be implementing suggestions based on early adopter feedback. There will also be support added for non-SAP SuccessFactors customers to use Onboarding 2.0. That will include any external HRIS or SAP ERP HCM on-premise. Compliance forms will be added for the U.K. and Australia. There will also be functionality added for the handling of no-shows and the ability to configure custom offboarding processes.
Throughout the rest of 2020, SAP SuccessFactors will continue to seek early adopter feedback and implement where necessary. In the second half, expect to see compliance forms for the U.S. (E-Verify), and Canada.
