Organizations with a culture of learning encourage employees to expand their knowledge and skillsets. In the SAP ecosystem, one way to do that is through the SAP Learning Hub. This service provides access to learning journey guides, self-paced content, live sessions, and hands-on learning on SAP topics, such as SAP SuccessFactors.

The SAP Learning Hub is available to SAP clients and partners and is a path to certification for many SAP consultants. It provides the background knowledge necessary to achieve SAP SuccessFactors Associate certifications through structured training paths for each module, as well as the platform to maintain certifications via delta exams that test on the latest release updates.

We’ve talked about what these certifications mean at length, both on this blog and on LinkedIn Live with industry experts, but a quick recap: Associate certifications provide validation that a person has basic knowledge in a particular SAP SuccessFactors module. This is the baseline requirement for working on an SAP SuccessFactors project. Professional certifications are the highest level of certification provided by SAP, which requires consultants to demonstrate their functional and technical expertise in a project lead capacity along with client references.

How is Your SAP SuccessFactors Partner Staying Up-to-Date?

When selecting an SAP SuccessFactors implementation partner, it’s essential to make sure they have the knowledge and experience necessary for a successful project. Certification is a way to check that, but it’s also okay to ask partners how their consultants learn about SAP SuccessFactors modules and the latest updates.

Here’s Luc Hedou, CEO of Rizing HCM, on how we use SAP Learning Hub:

There are certainly ways to continuously learn beyond SAP Learning Hub. Consultants can explore the SAP SuccessFactors modules on their own in a demo environment. They pick up new things from project experience. They dive into release notes or get involved in SAP communities and user groups. A consultancy can also use a Learning Management System (LMS) like SAP SuccessFactors Learning to track training the consultant has completed. Learning Hub education is conducted, tracked, and verified by SAP.

SAP Learning Hub Enables a More Holistic Understanding of SAP SuccessFactors

Many consultants specialize in certain areas of SAP SuccessFactors. This is good because it allows them to have an in-depth knowledge of the modules. However, an organization with a culture of learning will understand it’s also beneficial to certify in multiple modules.

Cross-certification can give the consultant a greater ability to understand the impacts one module has on another, and how those modules may integrate. If your organization is implementing multiple modules, that holistic understanding of SAP SuccessFactors is undoubtedly something you’d want in your project team.

Continuous learning goes beyond certification, as well. There is coursework in SAP Learning Hub that expands on prescribed learning tracks for modules, allowing a consultant to improve technical skills and to become a well-rounded expert in their area of focus.

With a subscription to SAP Learning Hub, consultants have access to learning on all modules. In a positive learning culture, they are encouraged to explore beyond their specialty module and use that knowledge to gain certification.

If you haven’t considered it before, asking your prospective partner about its culture of learning could give a clue into how much they value growth and knowledge in their consultants. That could certainly impact the quality of your SAP SuccessFactors project.
