The SAP SuccessFactors® 2020 Employee Central roadmap will be realized, in part, with the initial 2020 production release on May 15. The preview for that release is coming soon—April 10, and we can get a sneak peek into the first half or “H1” release by looking at the roadmap. There are just two rollouts on the 2020 SAP SuccessFactors release schedule, so expect both versions to be full of innovation and critical features.
We’ve already parsed the roadmap for expected enhancements in UI, search, analytics, Recruiting, and Onboarding. Now, let’s look at what’s on the SAP SuccessFactors 2020 Employee Central Roadmap for the Core and Service Center.
What’s on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central 2020 Roadmap
Employee Central Core
For the core functionality, SAP SuccessFactors expects enhancements in rule scenarios, improved “Manage Pending Hires” features such as filtering on draft, and for inclusion of the “Manage Pending Hires” features, currently in beta (via Onboarding 2.0) to become universal.
On the workflow side, expect to see automatic delegation improvements along with the ability to process Employee Central and MDF workflows in a central inbox. There will also be improved integration between position and requisition within the position management and company structure overview.
For contingent labor management, the first 2020 release should bring Person-ID-external field support in the work order import function. There will be cross-portlets business rules to propagate from job information to work order vice-a-versa.
The employee profile directory search will get an overhaul—replaced by a universal person search—you will have the opportunity to opt-in for that change. In the people profile page, a universal person auto-complete search replaces the people picker function.
On the foundational data side of things, importing and API enhancements include Person Type Data Model support as defined in the BCUI (Business Configuration Manager)). Import will also support incremental mode for person objects. Expect also to see user experience improvements for BCUI screens.
Employee Central API enhancements will include enabling compound employee API for contribution deals related to benefits and further snapshot pagination for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Objects.
Core Enhancements in the Next 24 Months
Before the end of 2021, SAP SuccessFactors anticipates improved processing of mass changes for employee data and position data and flexible configuration of the hiring process. Job profile builder should see skills and competency enhancements, including an assessment widget, and unified skills and competency framework.
The Compensation API and import will be combined, and SAP SuccessFactors will expose the external code of picklist in the OData API. Additionally, expect enhanced integration between Employee Central and SAP Fieldglass.
Eventually, talent search will take over for the employee directory for everybody. There will also be improvements to the handling of profile and background photos, along with overall user experience enhancements in Employee Profile.
Employee Central Service Center
Both employees and HR service center agents should see many improvements to their service center experiences in the first half of 2020. Employees will see a service catalog by country, migration of most legacy V1 customers to V2, user experience enhancements, expanded languages, and more flexibility on AskHR employee UI screens.
For the HR service agents, service channel improvements include SAP Contact Center cloud integration, and AWS connect out-of-the-box voice integration. For e-mail, there will be enhancements in support for multiple inboxes on unassociated e-mails. access restriction for unassociated e-mails, and e-mail as a shared service will be included
Live activity will add push routing and inbuilt chat and multichat capability. AWS connect also becomes an option for chat.
Ticket management will get experience improvements in ticket archiving, selection of form by ticket types, deeper workflow integration with access to header/main ticket conditions, moment flow consumption, and PDF generator as a service.
Knowledge base and customer feedback management updates are expected to include simplified setup for MindTouch integration, automatic ticket follow-up, and root cause analysis for SAP Experience Management solutions (Qualtrics). We’ll also see KB authoring and publishing directly from the SAP Service Cloud, and digital feedback capture and integration from Experience Management to the SAP Service Cloud.
Service Center Enhancements in the Next 24 Months
By the end of 2021, SAP SuccessFactors expects to make askHR UI screens even more flexible. Customers will see deprecation of the legacy service center solution, and further improvements in the SAP Service Cloud experience for HR service center agents.
