The second SAP® SuccessFactors® release of 2019 went into preview on May 10. We have already provided an overview of major highlights in the update, as well as a look at how upcoming updates integrate SAP SuccessFactors with the Intelligent Enterprise. Now we are going to take some time to examine more detailed information on updates in the SAP SuccessFactors mobile apps for iOS and Android.

The preview release allows customers the chance to test out new features before they officially go live in the system on the production date. Each preview of SAP SuccessFactors quarterly updates comes about one month before the production, which is June 7 for this quarter.
Let’s look at the enhancements in the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps. As a reminder, mobile follows a monthly release.
March & April SAP SuccessFactors Mobile Release
EC Ask HR: With the Q2 2019 Release mobile users will have access to Employee Central Service Center (Ask HR). Mobile access to Ask HR includes:
- Create HR tickets
- Search and Filter My HR tickets
- View, edit, and reply to My HR tickets
- Contact HR Service Center
How to turn it on: Admin Center Opt-in (iOS & Android)
Learning Content: Clients using open content network (OCN) provider(s) for external learning will be able to search, find, and assign external content. Users will be able to view the external content in their Assignment list, launch, and complete the course.

- Open HCI

Job Requisition Approval: Users will have the ability to review and edit Job Requisition approvals. Managers will be able to approve, delegate, and decline.

Time Sheet Approval: Users will have the ability to review and manage Time Sheets approvals. Managers will be able to approve, delegate, and decline time sheets.
How to turn it on: Universal – Mobile Android
Learning Item Details: This page has been redesigned to support items and cover pages and provide a better UX for learning users.
- Tabbed design to better navigate the cover page, description, and additional item detail field for an item
- Display of additional fields within the item details screen; contact hours, CPE hours, Length, and Assignment Type
- Reorganization of primary and secondary actions for items

Create Achievement & Activities based on Learning Courses: This creates a new integration between Learning and Continuous Performance Management, which includes:
- Create activities from item details screen of learning items added to My Assignments
- Prompt users to create Activities when assigning an item from Learning Catalog.
- Delete CPM activities created from Learning Assignments if the employee removes the learning assignment
- Create CPM achievements from the history details screen of successfully completed learning items
- From CPM activity and achievement screen, display that the activity and/or achievement was created via a learning item
