The third SAP® SuccessFactors® release of 2019 goes into preview on August 9. We have already provided an overview of highlights for Employee Central Time and Attendance in the update. Now we are going to take some time to examine more detailed information on updates in SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Variable Pay.

The preview release allows customers the chance to test out new features before they officially go live in the system on the production date. Each preview of SAP SuccessFactors quarterly updates comes about one month before the production, which is September 6 for this quarter.

Let’s look at the major enhancements for Q3 2019 in SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Variable Pay.

People Analytics

People Analytics, embedded edition: Early Adopter, Compensation: People Analytics, embedded edition is available for Early Adopter use in Production Environments. You can find out more about People Analytics by reading our blog on the topic (link), and interested customers can sign up via Influence here: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#campaign/1972.

Note: Only a small number of customers will be selected, based on prerequisite criteria and regional distribution of customer base.

SAP SuccessFactors Q3 2019 Compensation updateReward and Recognition

Reward and Recognition – Points programs and Gift Card Fulfillment (BETA): This new beta enhancement will provide the opportunity to build a point-based rewards program for employees, where points can be accumulated and redeemed for gift cards and experiences.

To access this, you must be signed up for the SAP SuccessFactors Beta/Early Adopter program.

How to turn it on: Early Adopter Opt-In.

Reward and Recognition – Homepage Redesign: The Reward and Recognition homepage has been given an employee-centric redesign, with the following changes:

  • Employees can now access their Award history and view details of Awards received, Awards sent and Awards redeemed.
  • Programs can now have associated images which allow employees to recognize and choose programs easily
  • New card for Managers to view their team’s award history
  • Budget holders can see budgets available across programs

SAP SuccessFactors Q3 2019 Compensation update

Reward and Recognition – Previous Award Screen: Employees can now see awards they have sent, received, and redeemed across all programs in one place.

SAP SuccessFactors q3 2019 Variable Pay update

Reward and Recognition – Nomination Flow Redesign: Employees can now view a wizard-like sequence of steps through the employee nomination flow when choosing a Spot Award program. This will give them a sense of what is next as they go through the process, and how many steps are left.

SAP SuccessFactors q3 2019 variable pay

Planning

Custom Validation: This is intended to improve the quality of planning by allowing customers to define up to three formula-drive validations on a template to have hard and soft spots, as well as corresponding messages to planners. This can go beyond validations that already exist in the system, such as budget.
