We’ve broken down the 2H 2023 SAP® SuccessFactors® updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Talent Intelligence Hub.
Talent Intelligence Hub Available in General Release
With the 2H 2023 release, SAP made the Talent Intelligence Hub generally available for SuccessFactors customers. The Talent Intelligence Hub is a platform/framework that allows you to manage employee attributes like skills and competencies better. It also allows your employees to identify skill and competency interests and build a personal Growth Portfolio of unique attributes.
Talent Intelligence Hub recommends employee skills using artificial intelligence and machine learning technology.
As an Administrator, you can use Talent Intelligence Hub to create libraries of attributes like competencies and skills. You can also define proficiency level scales for each attribute and turn the Growth Portfolio on/off.
Employees can use the Growth Portfolio to:
- Add skills
- Assess proficiency
- Prioritize competencies and skills of interest
- Get relevant growth opportunity recommendations.
You can use Story Reports to report on data in the Talent Intelligence Hub tables.
There are also valuable points of integration for the Talent Intelligence Hub with other talent modules, such as:
- Performance
- Continuous Performance Management
- Career Development Planning
- Recruiting
- Learning
- Opportunity Marketplace
For example, in addition to being able to rate skills in a Performance Form or 360 form, your managers can also assess their team’s skills in the Team Portfolio view.
How to turn it on: The Talent Intelligence Hub is an optional functionality you can enable via the Upgrade Center. Note: it is NOT a backward-compatible upgrade (i.e., it cannot be turned off or reversed out of an instance once it’s enabled).
Talent Intelligence Hub does have prerequisites. Specifically, you must enable Job Profile Builder (JPB) and migrate any competencies created in Job Description Manager (JDM) to Job Profile Builder.
Also, it’s important to export and save all your existing competency and skill data in all locales (languages) before migrating, as the Talent Intelligence Hub does not support the default locale context.
Where to find help:
SAP SuccessFactors has detailed instructions for migrating to the Talent Intelligence Hub. The instructions differ depending on whether you use Job Description Manager or Job Profile Builder today. Check out the separate Migration Path (instructions) for Job Description Manager customers and Job Profile Builder customers on SAP’s Help Portal.
Note: You may need to do some data updates via Provisioning. SAP will highlight these for you while running the Check Tool process as you’re enabling Talent Intelligence Hub. As a customer, you do not have access to Provisioning. Implementation partners such as Rizing HCM can assist you with making the necessary data updates in Provisioning.
