We’ve broken down the major H1 2024 SAP® SuccessFactors® updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Learning.

The Latest Version of Learning History is Now Generally Available

This release introduces a redesigned and streamlined Learning History view for users. This new version of the Learning History page is Universal and automatically on (regardless of adoption of the new Learning Experience). The improvements should make it an intuitive and positive change for learners.

Administrator Suggestions Now Available on the New Learning Page

Now, you can access all suggested courses, programs, and collections in one place. This fills a notable gap from the H2 2023 release of the Learning Home Page.

How to turn it on: This is opt-in and customer-configured.

Background Job for Adding Library Items

With this release, you can now use a background job to add library items. Previously, there wasn’t an option to schedule a background job when adding many items to a library at one time (i.e., when implementing a new content vendor). This update is an improvement for learning system administrators.

The setting is off by default but can be enabled by navigating System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > LMS_ADMIN BACKGROUND JOB SETTINGS and setting useItemLibrartBackgroundJob to true.

How to turn it on: This is opt-in and customer-configured.

Option to Hide the Required Learning Section on the New Learning Home Page

Administrators can now hide the Required Learning section on the new Learning Home Page if learners don’t have any required learning items assigned. This maximizes screen real estate on the new Learning Home Page by hiding the section if no required training is assigned. This is not a global configuration but must be configured by Organization or User Group.

How to turn it on: This is opt-in and customer-configured.

New Learning Home Page Displays Assignments Assigned as Non-Required Items

The new Learning Home Page lets you view your learning assignments assigned as non-required items by administrators and managers in the Important Learning section. This fills a notable gap from the H2 2023 release of the new Learning Home Page and continues to enhance the user experience.
